Wash your handsBefore AND after every animal. Protects you and them.
Stay calm and quietNo sudden movements or loud noises — animals startle easily.
Watch their signalsLearn what happy and stressed looks like for each animal.
Always supervisedNever handle an animal without a trained adult present.
Never force itIf an animal doesn't want to be held, respect that — it's their choice too.
Two hands alwaysSupport the whole body — never pick up by a leg, tail or head.
